Path width, Height blending

  • Hi!

Off topic note: It seems like I was unable to create a topic in "Welcome/FAQ" which seemed like the best place for a question like this. Please move this topic if necessary.

    On topic:

I'm trying to recreate a real world village and the surroundings on a 4k terrain and I just don't know if I'm doing something wrong or I really can't:

    • get a narrower path than 0,01
    • make the terrain follow the path if its width is 0,01 -->it seems like it starts to follow it around width=0,05 which is way wider than what I need (its an elevated railway path)

I can do it in UE if its a WC limitation or something, but I tought it would be better to do all terrain and material works in WC and not mix it in the two if possible.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for the clarification — that helps a lot.

So it’s important that the path is highly detailed, a bit narrower, and follows the terrain more closely.

Making it follow the terrain more precisely would require additional control points, which means this would be more of a manual workflow.

Narrowing the path is definitely possible — we can adjust it so the value can go below 0.01.

You can also increase the level of detail by adjusting the LEVEL STEP parameter. Setting it to a higher value should make the difference clearly visible.

I’ll bring up the smaller minimum value with the team, and we’ll adapt this as soon as possible.
